SWOOPS 101: SIMULATOR DESIGN
The goal is simple, build the most technologically advanced simulator in all of sports. Whether it's predicting the results of the NBA playoffs, how a squad of NBA all-stars would fair against a group of benchwarmers, or delivering realistic outcomes and in-game behavior during the latest Swooper Bowl, our proprietary Swoops Simulator does it, and does it well.
With that hyped up intro in mind, let's get into why we're so confident in our tech.
WHAT IS THE SWOOPS SIM?
The Swoops Simulator is the propietary backend technology that fuels our simulations.
WHO BUILT IT?
EVERY person on our data science team has worked for the NBA in some capacity; the head of our team even has a championship ring to show for it. This team understands the modern day game of basketball better than anyone in our industry, with the proof being in the realistic and consistent results of our game simulations.
TEAM CHEMISTRY
The Swoops Simulator assesses how skill sets interact with one another, adjusting shot types, locations, and likelihood of an event based on interactions between all players on the court.
PLAY-BY-PLAY BASED SIMULATIONS
Play-by-play simulations offer continuous game flow, player shot distribution, and granular shot locations based on player tendencies.
FULL GAME WATCHING EXPERIENCE
SWOOPS CAST is what we call our game watching experience. Within our simulator, once your game has been simulated, you will have the option of watching the game play out or revealing the result immediately. If you choose to watch the game, SWOOPS CAST will give you a better understanding as to how the game transpired, with every play and stat adjusting in real time, right before your eyes.
PLAYER IQ
Players adjust for game flow, and specific game situations. For example, two-for-one possessions at the end of quarters or regulation.
COACHING IQ
The Swoops Simulator adjusts team strategy based on the game situation. For example, if a team is winning by 30 points, they will slow the pace of the game to prevent the opponent from scoring.
SCROLL THROUGH KEY PLAYS
For those meticulous team owners, our Swoops Cast game watching experience includes a scroll bar, allowing you to cycle back through gameplay at your own pace.
MULTIPLE PLAYING STYLES
The Swoops Simulator is modeled after our NBA counterparts, where a variety of playing styles can lead to deep runs in the Swooper Bowl. How you play is up to you.
DETAILED PLAYER AND TEAM STATS
Whether you're tracking in real time or reviewing the box score at the end of the game, you will get a full report on both player and team stats, setting you up to make key coaching decisions for the next game.
