SWOOPS 101: IN-SEASON TOURNAMENTS
Each week during the regular season, our owners will have the ability to compete in single elimination standard tournaments to earn Swooper Points and cash prizes. Similarly, two Major tournaments will run during the regular season. Majors will reward larger cash and Swooper Points prizes.
Let's dig into the details:
STANDARD TOURNAMENTS
As if winning cash is "standard."
WEEKLY STANDARD TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE
MONDAY - SATURDAY: While games are live during the regular season, two standard tournaments will run each day (between Monday and Saturday).
One of those tournaments will always be a 5-Swoopster tournament, while the second tournament will alternate between a 1-Swoopster tournament and a 3-Swoopster tournament. Definitions of each are below.
- 5-SWOOPSTER TOURNAMENTS: Each day, between Monday and Saturday, Swoops will run an open 5-Swoopster tournament, meaning teams in that contest can submit a lineup with up to five owned Swoopsters.
- 1 AND 3-SWOOPSTER TOURNAMENTS: The second tournament will alternate each day between 1 and 3-Swoopster tournaments. In a 1-Swoopster tournament, users can enter lineups with a maximum of one owned Swoopster, with the remaining open lineup slots being filled by free agents. Similarly, for the 3-Swoopster tournaments, users can enter lineups with a maximum of three owned Swoopsters, the remaining slots once again being filled by free agents.
SUNDAY: On (Swooper) Sundays in which regular season games are live, a single 5-Swoopster tournament will run. The prize pool for the single Sunday tournament will be increased, with 1st place going from a $20 payout to $100 (see PRIZE POOL).
DAILY STANDARD TOURNAMENT TIMING AND ENTRY
- WHEN DO LOBBIES OPEN AND CLOSE?: Lobbies will open at 2PM EST for the following day's tournament, closing once filled. If a tournament is not filled by 2pm EST the following day, the tournament will not run for that day.
- HOW DO I ENTER A ENTER A TOURNAMENT?: Entry into each tournament will be first come, first served.
- HOW MANY TOURNAMENTS CAN I ENTER: Teams are limited to entering one tournament in total, every 24 hours.
- HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO SUBMIT A LINEUP: Owners will have three minutes to submit their lineup.

MAJOR TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE
Major tournaments are unique in several ways, with one obvious difference being frequency. There will be only two major tournaments per regular season. Details on those tournaments will be revealed in the coming weeks.
